I'm looking to do Multiple Custom Page Templates along the lines of http://j.mp/MultiCustomWPTemplates within WP3 + Genesis and a theme (or no theme). Any guidance for achieving this? Have asked about it here too: http://www.studiopress.com/support/showthread.php?…..post183759

Hi,

Not sure I follow your question. Do you want to use the DCG with multiple Page Templates?

Thanks for responding, Ade!

More simply, 1) How can I make different pages in the same site look different from one another? I want some pages to have a different:
• Header
• Sidebar layout
• Widgets
Would I use Child themes? “Templates?” “Somethings?”
2) After making a “custom” page is there a way to use that to create more pages using the same customizations? I’d like to make groups of pages all have the same customization layout/template/whatever to differentiate them as a different section of the website.

3) Is there a way to do this for posts as well?

What this is for: I’m making a site with different divisions/sections e.g. “News” “Classes” “Store” etc. and want each division/section to look different from the other ones.

By "DCG" do you mean Dynamic Content Gallery? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/dynamic-conten…..changelog/ If so, then no, I don't think so. Just want pages to look different from one another (and preferably, posts as well).

Hi,

The Studiopress forum is teh best place to get answers for Genesis-specific questions.

In the meantime, here's some general info…

You can create Custom Page Templates and then assign any Page you create in the Write Page screen to any one of your Custom Page Templates. This codex article may help:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own….._Templates

Genesis is more complex than a normal theme and therefore the handling of Custom Templates is a little different (though the underlying principle is the same).
