It's clear than your answer is only designed for those with technical knowledge and experience — otherwise you would realize that themes and plug ins can be handled directly through Word Press. Those plebians of the group, like myself, realize that plug ins and themes come with no guarantees, but we do rely on people uploading their product correctly. Or at least that we'll be able to uninstall an offending product.
It appears that fixing this problem is beyond my technical ability (which I acknowledge is basic). That means I'll have to rely on the kindness of friends to solve this problem or hire someone to fix it.
I know this "glitch" in your upload is no big deal to you, but please don't assume that it's no big deal to everyone else.

I replaced as instructed in the plug in editor file. That still didn't solve the problem. I am still unable to activate the plug in and get the previous error. And, I remain unable to delete it.
I will seek help elsewhere.

All you need do is to use FTP to replace the existing install with a clean one. Most hosting companies provide a File Manager which will let you upload files (albeit more slowly than FTP) in a similar manner.
I won't respond to your negative comments other than to remind you that (a) this is a free plugin and (b) maintaining it and supporting it costs me 100's of free hours…
