I am using Genesis Theme and the Streamline child theme.  It seems lik the gallery is contributing to page load speed being slow… and as well, getting around in the WordPress Dashboard is very slow.

I want to test out the speed of page load if I take out the Gallery on the Home page.

Question – Can I deactivate the gallery and retain the associated widgets that appear on the Widgets area in the Dashboard? In case I want to use them again I do not want to have to recreate them —- the ones that I can put in the Inactive area.

Thanks,

Dale

Dale,

Deactivating the DCG will result in the DCG widget being moved to the Inactive Widgets area of the Widgets page. Your settings will not be lost.

The front end of your site loads fast for me.

The only way to be scientific about this is to deactivate all plugins and see how the back end behaves. If no difference, then switch to the Default theme and see what happens.
