Configure DCG to pull static images from folder (show portfolio)?

I like the DCG and was wondering if it could be used to pull in static images from a folder, not related to blog categories, and not limited to 15 images? For example, I would like to show a portfolio of web designs. I would like to add the images to a folder, enable the images to link to the exterior web site and add a brief description of each image.

Thanks

Yes! Use the ID Method and enter your page ID's in the ID Method options in DCG Settings page, Gallery Method tab. Use Full URL Image Management and enter the relevant image URL into the DCG Metabox in each of your portfolio pages.

Thank you!!Smile I got it to work. Is there any limit to the number of images that can appear in the static gallery (or rather the number of page ids that I can add? Also, what is the purpose of the default image?

Thanks.

Hi,

You can add as many Page ID's as you like. Just bear in mind that each ID means an additional image in the DCG, which means a larger page size to be downloaded by visitor's browsers. Personally, I would keep it to less than 10.

The default image is a fallback in the event that a specified Page does not have either an image attachment (if Auto Image Management selected), or a DCG metabox URL (Full or Partial URL Image Management). Since the ID Method is static, I wouldn't worry about it. You may like to enter a URL in the Default Image URL field in order to suppress the DCG warning message.
