Just a quick post to let you know that I have been working on migrating the Dynamic Content Gallery plugin to WordPress 2.7 and WPMU. The good news is that the current version of the plugin works fine with WordPress 2.7 beta1. The migration to WPMU is almost complete with public release planned to tie in with the stable release of WP 2.7.
You can follow developments on the migration to WordPress 2.7 on the Support Forum here.
The (currently) ongoing story of the migration to WPMU can be found on the Support Forum here.
Impressions so far of WordPress 2.7? It looks really good!
Update 1 December 2008:
Version 2.1 available here is compatible with: Wordpress: up to 2.7 beta 3 Wordpress Mu: 2.6.5Update 1 November 2008:
WordPress 2.7
The Dynamic Content Gallery plugin version 1.0.0 works fine with WordPress 2.7 beta1.
I’m finalising a version 2.0 of the plugin which will be released shortly. As mentioned below, version 2.0 incorporates a number of configuration enhancements and fixes some script and CSS issues.

A rough and ready “beta” fix to enable the plugin to run on WPMU is available here.
Please follow the instructions given on that page for using this fix with WPMU.
Update 22 October 2008:
WordPress 2.7
The Dynamic Content Gallery plugin version 1.0.0. works fine.
I’m currently taking this opportunity to add some additional features for an upgrade to the plugin to tie in with the release of WordPress 2.7, which is expected in November 2008. Additional featues will include:
- Set gallery width and height in the Options page
- Set height of sliding pane in the Options page
- Add in the IE7 CSS fix
- Add in the IE7 script error fix
I can’t guarantee that all the above will make it into the next version, although the fixes certainly will. If you have any other suggestions for future features, please leave a comment. Thanks!

The good news is that the Error when saving options issue is fixed (though not yet available in the public stable download).
The other news is that I need to re-think how the plugin deals with default images in a WPMU environment. WPMU users, including Blog Admins, do not have access to a file editor nor can they create and manage web folders – for obvious reasons of security. This means I need to re-think:
- Finding the path to uploaded Post Custom field images
- Deciding whether to keep the concept of default images
- How users can modify CSS – probably will not be able to in a WPMU environment
That’s all for now.
