I have a suggestion for a useful code snippit for your awesome website.

So WP2.9's 'the_post_thumbnail' feature is amazing, but it requires the user to manually specifiy the image to be used as the 'the_post_thumbnail'.

So it would be handy to have a code snippit that automattically sets the first image uploaded as the 'the_post_thumbnail', which can be overridden by the user if desired.

Most of my posts only contain one image, and it's furstrating to have to set the 'the_post_thumbnail' everytime. Also, I do a lot of posting via email and there is no way to set 'the_post_thumbnail' when posting via email. If I could have Wordpress automattically set the first image attached as the 'the_post_thumbnail' then this would solve both problems.
