Wordpress version: 2.9.2

URL: http://www.famousinternetskiers.com/

Works beautifully (love this plugin!) in all browsers except for IE6 and, more troublingly since we actually have quite a few users on it, IE7.

I'm willing to give up IE6 functionality since users on that browser are accustomed to things not working correctly, but I'd really like to try to get IE7 users the gallery.

The problem: We get a black box that takes up the space where DCG should be, but nothing is visible. Using IE render Dev tools, I have been able to see that the objects (pictures/excerpts/titles etc) are present, but not visible to IE6/7 users.

At one point we were getting a wierd overflow wherein the content was not being loaded into the DCG, and was instead just getting loaded as normal HTML content (or somethign like that). The pictures/text/links were NOT visible, but WERE taking up space, and taking up huge portions of (hideous) white space on the site. To combat this in IE6/7 I specified overflow for the myGallery class to be hidden. this stopped the overflow/spacing problem, but didn't solve visibility problem.

*Occasionaly* on the first load of http://www.famousinternetskiers.com/ the content gallery will load in an IE6/7 browser, but subsequent visits/refreshes kill the gallery and often other java elements such as google ads, and affiliate advertising.

Although we do have contact form 7 (a known conflictin plugin), we tried removing the scripts and styles from the loading on the front page where DCG appears, and still no luck (currently the scripts for contact form 7 are loading again if you poke around in there)… Also tried removing the load of jquery, and removed all loads of scripts for lightbox (and even shadowbox which we switched to hoping we could get DCG to work).

also tried doing a fresh reinstallation of DCG… still no dice.

thanks for any insight or help you can provide.

Best,

Greg P.

want to add that by some strange coindence, i noticed that if i load the carousell (we would like to have it hidden), we can get the entire DCG visible, but the carousell appears in a very strange fashion in IE6/7

Hi,

I can't recreate the issue on my setup (look at my demo page in IE7 and you'll see it's fine). That leaves a javascript conflict or something in your CSS which is messing things up. First, rule out javascript issues by deactivating all other plugins and see what happens.

ADE thanks for checking in. We actually deactivated MOOtools, and ran it with Jquery. This got it working, but we lost the animated panel changes, etc…

Still doesn't work with mootools on IE6/7, but I doubt we're going to look into it any further. Thanks for a great product.

Hi,

Not sure what to suggest. I'm sure there is a javascript conflict (if not with another plugin, perhaps with js your theme is loading), as the mootools version normally works fine in IE.
