Actually, this requirement is only valid if you are using the mootools script and want to have resized thumbnails in the gallery's carousel. If you are not bothered by this, you can just ignore the warning.

If you do want this functionality, you need to add Post Thumbnail support to your theme. Simply add this to your theme's functions.php file:

add_theme_support('post-thumbnails');

Try blanking out the contents of the Slide Pane box in the DCG Settings > Javascript Options tab and see what happens.
