Hi,

I have a blog and a custom post type which is called Case Studies. I

Very simply I was using the "One Category" gallery method, to pull posts from both using the same category but it will only display posts from the blog and not my custom post type posts. I was hoping to be able to pull items from both.

It works fine if I use the "Custom Post Type" gallery method, but then I can't pull from the blog as well.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Currently, you can't mix normal posts and custom post type posts – even if they share the same taxonomy. This is a limitation of the way WP_Query works.

The good news is that WP 3.1 will allow more flexibilty in constructing queries so, hopefully, what you want to do should be possible in future.

In the meantime, your only option is to use the ID Method and reference each post (normal and custom type) by ID number.

which works perfectly, EXCEPT….. the DCG metabox doesn't get added to custom post types unless you elect Custom Post Type method under gallery methods, instead of ID method. Suggestions? i'd prefer to use ID method so I can utilize pages, posts and CPT's. Can I manually add the DCG metabox via functions?
