I am new to this plugin and have spent several days trying to figure it out. I was wondering if someone could get me started in 10 easy steps. Laugh

I have 3 pictures, 630x235, that I want to rotate on the home page of the Genesis/Church theme. Right now, I'm not concerned about attaching a url to them but will later.

I don't understand why the images are attached to a page or post, or what the difference is. And, if I create a page or post so the image will display, how do I keep the page or post from displaying because the only thing it will have on it is the image.

Any pointers are appreciated.

Debbie

Debbie,

The DCG images always link to something – either a post or a page depending on your Gallery method settings. At least, to get the DCG up and running on your site, take a look at the Quick Start guide.

Believe it or not, I actually printed those instructions out. But I'm still confused. Genesis has DCG hardwired into its code, so I need to figure it out.

I will go through these instructions today and, if I can't figure it out, will come back with more specific questions.

Thank you,
Debbie

Okay, I have printed these instructions plus some from the StudioPress website. This is what I did.

1. Set the full url as /uploads/2010/09
2. Created three posts with different names. Added the three to the same category. Entered the full url with image name: Love.jpg.
3. Using One Category settings.

Images are still not showing up. I changed the size of the gallery, and that changed, just no pictures. :-)

The website I'm working on is http://christwayla.org

Thanks,
Debbie Smile

Debbie,

Looks like you have a javascript conflict. Switch the DCG to use jQuery (DCG Settings>Javascript Options tab).

Yes, that change made the pictures display. Now I have to resize them. Cool

Shouldn't the pictures change automatically? I have to click the arrow to change them now. And one doesn't show.

Thanks,
Debbie

It works!

There was something wrong with the link to the third picture. Once I fixed that, the pictures began cycling.

Thank you so much!
