Hi,

I'm using WP 3.1.2 and DCG version 3.3.5 on our site, http://www.genealogybeginner.com. I'd like to reduce the click area that takes users to the next gallery post.

The next/back hotspots are taking up too much space, so users are confused when they click the image and go to the next slide instead of following the link. The gallery is 630 px wide. Next/back arrows are displayed on left and right.

Any tips on how to do this?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi,

Add this to your theme's style.css:

.jdGallery a.right, .jdGallery a.left {
width:15% !important;
}

The default is 25%, so try 15% and see if that works for you.

Great. That did the trick. Thanks, Ade!

One more question.

How to increase the center click area to 70%? I tried adding a similar block to the template css, using: .jdGallery a.center and .jdGallery a.middle.

Neither appeared to work. So now there's a lot "dead" space between the center image link area and the left and right ones.

No, this is the selector:

.withArrows a.open

So, add this to style.css:

.withArrows a.open {
left:15%;
width: 70%;
}

This assumes you kept with the 15% for the arrows.
