How can I generate the description automatically from the excerpt?
Ideally I'd like to automatically use the image that we assign as the POST IMAGE and the description automatically use the custom EXCERPT we create for the post.

Hi! If I understood correctly, just go to DCG settings in your admin panel. Find "Descriptions" tab and choose "Auto".
Dont forget set the number of characters!

The "Auto" setting creates an excerpt from the content. I'd like the description to be the first 260 characters from the Worpress/Thesis excerpt field – not just the first 260 characters of the post. If that makes sense :-)
I work for a news website and the stories often start with The Location (Example: "LANDER — The first sign that…") The excerpts are cleaner than the first line of the story. (Example: "America’s national parks have a tradition of coming to the rescue of visitors")
I imagine what I'm asking for may require some coding.

HI! Okay, I understanding you now.
In admin panel click: Posts->Your Post(choose a post for DCG)->in right sidebar fill field "Slide Pane Description".
You got it!) Now you can see your text. Not text from first 260 or some characters.

I have a question, DCG on your site only on main page? How you have added the DCG to your theme? Just I have problem with my site, text in static page not showing.
