According to documentation, if we set the Image Management settings to Auto, the Gallery will "automatically pull in the first image attachment from the Post." By first, do you mean in order of appearance on the page, top-to-bottom, or order of date uploaded?

I ask because I have one post where the Gallery is pulling an image other than the one at the start of the page, and I can't seem to get it to choose the top (first) image no matter what I do.

The image is in proper .jpg ending, and is in the same WP Media File folder that holds all my other post images, from which the gallery is correctly choosing the top image from all other posts. And the Image slots in the Multi Option settings all have the correct Category name and Post number.

If you want to look, you can go to http://bestearbudsales.com and go to the post entitled Monster Turbine PRO Premium Earbuds. You will see 7 images in that post, including link buttons, and the largest image at the very top (copper earbuds) is the one I cannot get to display in the Gallery. Thanks

I'm similarly confused by the "auto" option. I've not made the plugin live on my site yet, but from experimenting, it seems that the plugin is using the last image I've attached to a post, rather than the first.

The "auto" option would be pretty useful, but sadly it looks like I might have to use the full URL option which is a bit fiddly.

Well this was posted on the 16th and still no reply from Ade a week later. I know Ade has been online because he has replied to other posts as recently as yesterday.

So, Monkeyboy, we may not be getting proper support for this Cry

Ade may be choosing to shine me on because, in my only other thread, I had a difference of opinion with him about the level of code knowledge needed and a suggested an improvement to his documentation. I thought it was a worthwhile debate but he may have decided he didn't want to speak with me anymore Cry

Anyway, we may have to figure this one out on our own, or just not use his DCG plugin.

Ah, well, I'm using the plugin now. I'm just not using the "Auto" option as I couldn't get it to work. I'm instead using the "Full URL" option. It's not too bad, as the images I'm using for the gallery are the first main image of every post, which is always the same width and height. So if I preview my post, I can quickly grab the image's URL by right clicking and pasting into the metabox.

Yeah, I can't get Ade to answer, for whatever reason. It's not because he hasn't been here; he's posted several times since we posted this. He's just being pissy. Anyway, I'll have to try the Full URL option too as a workaround. Should do what he says on Auto, though…would be nice if he clarified that.

Guys,

Insulting me isn't going to give me any incentive to help you out, is it? This is a FREE plugin, provided with FREE support, and although I shouldn't have to explain the obvious (but I will anyway): giving my FREE time to supporting users doesn't always get first priority.
