Is this a known bug and is there a cure? On my site the "Featured Articles" label is showing only one pixel high. Take a look:
The carousel can still be clicked on and used, but visitors can't see the sign, so they can only stumble upon it by chance. On another one of my sites
it works well. So I suppose it's theme related, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any hints?

No, it's not a bug – it's a CSS conflict with your theme.
Add this to your theme stylesheet:
margin: 0 !important;
}
