I tried static page or rcent posts as options in the reading section.
Also tried changing the number of posts to show. Nothing changed.
Anything else that could be wrong? Could I PM you with my login credentials?

got it! after playing trial and error, here is the code that did it:

function add_to_feature_box() { ?>
