Hi –
I've had the DCG for quite some time on my site http://www.globotreks.com Today I updated it to v3.3 and it suddenly stopped working. I notice a new Warning "This version of Dynamic Content Gallery requires that your theme supports the WP Post Thumbnails feature." So far I think my Theme (Woothemes Canvas) does support Post Tumbnails.
Do I have to change some of my settings? anything wrong?
Cheers!

OfflineHi,
Actually, the DCG will still work with that warning, but you will get better thumbnails for the carousel when using mootools if you select the Post Thumnbnails option in the Image Management settings. Of course, if you go this route you will have to assign a "Featured Image" in each relevant Post.
As for your DCG not working, everything looks fine in your Page Source – all images etc present and correct (and the URL seem fine). This suggests a javascript conflict.
Try the following (exactly as described):
1. Go to DCG Settings>Image Management and makesure that "Legacy" is selected for the Carousel thumbnails. Save changes.
2. Go back to DCG Settings page and select jQuery in teh DCG Settings > Javascript options. Save changes.
Lets see if that makes a difference.

Ok, after yesterdays upgrade conflict issue.. I had downgraded back to 3.2.3 and hung out for 24 hours. I now did the upgrade via the admin and tada.. black box. If I switch it over to JQuery I get no box at all. I confirmed the settings and even reviewed the source and confirmed that all the elements are there and the href's all are good its just the display that isnt functioning.
I'll leave this on for a bit but then if nothing I'll go back to 3.2.3

Decided there are a few too many 3.3 issues around. Downgraded to 3.2.3
Hi,
The only issue with 3.3 is a problem when the new options added in v3.3 are first loaded. Thanks to a stupid error by yours truly, these new options aren't added properly, hence the Error 20 issue.
So – now you have 3.2.3 live, do the following:
1. go to the DCG Settings and change the Javascript options to Mootools.
2. Save Changes.
3. Now upgrade to 3.3.
4. Go to DCG Settings page and select either Legacy or Post Thumbnails in the Image Management Settings.
5. Save chnages. You should now NOT get an Error 20 message.
6. Now go back to the DCG Settings page and switch the Javascript Options back to jQuery. All should then be fine.
Yes, it's a PITA, but takes 2 minutes.

Thanks! It's working. For some reason the v3.3 creates some sort of conflict with the Mootools. But for now the jQuery seems to work fine.
Great! Thanks for the feedback.

Arg… thought I could just go back and put up the 3.2.3 code but now it wont recognize the changes in the 3.2.3 admin.
Mark,
Thought you had 3.2.3 live. You may need to delete the plugin via Dashboard>Plugins page, then upload 3.2.3 again. You will lose your settings, so make a note before you do this.

I went back to 3.2.3 but it wouldnt hold settings so if it wasnt working in 3.2.3 I figured sitting broke at 3.3 was just as effective.
Now I am at 3.3, no error (even though I have that checked in settings) and it looks like things are set right but no dice.

So, no help? If not then when I get home I'll delete the plugin from the directory and try to upload a fresh copy of 3.2.3 and then push the upgrade and see if that sorts it out.
I thought you were using jQuery not mootools, in which case, switch back to jQuery. All the markup is fine in your Page Source and the image links are correct.

jQuery turned on makes the whole thing disappear. Im going to deactivate, then delete, install and activate 3.2.3 and try the upgrade and see if that shakes something loose.

Ok, I did the in between. I deactivated 3.3 then deleted (via ftp) the plugin directory. I uploaded 3.2.3 and reactivated, changed the settings and still the same. Mootools shows black box and jQuery simply doesn't show anything.
Guess the only other option is to deactivate and delete via the admin but what I want to know is will that destroy all the data in the db as well?

OfflineIf you delete by FTP then no, the database isn't affected. If you delete via Dashboard>Plugins screen then, yes, the database options will be deleted.
Putting aside the Error 20 issue, I can't see why the 3.3 gallery isn't working for you but the 3.2.3 was. So, just to clarify, with 3.2.3 were you using mootools or jQuery?

OfflineA couple of things I see (or can't see) on your site right now:
1. Your theme or a plugin is loading jQuery 1.3.2.
Wordpress 3.0 uses jQuery 1.4. Are you running WP 3.0? If not, it's a minimum requirment for the DCG.
2. Can't see the scripts in the Page Source. Check the DCG Settings page > Load Scripts options. Select Home page.

WP Version 3.0.1, my theme is custom so I had an older jquery version. I just updated the header to include the latest jQuery. Still no dice. I might have to bite the bullet and do the data delete and start over… anything you can think of otherwise before I pull that trigger?

OfflineYou should use wp_enqueue_script() to pull in jQuery. If not, you will get jQuery loaded twice.
Upgrade to DCG 3.3.1 (released 30 minutes ago). Then see what happens.

The same thing has happened to me too. The plugin was working fine for a month now at http://stujay.com. This morning when I upgraded the plugin, it just left a black box in the spot where it should be. I tried switching between Mootools and jQuery .. no luck. I then deleted 3.3 via ftp and re-installed 3.2.3 again. Now THAT didn't work, and the Information panel wasn't showing up in the 'write posts / pages' section so that I could put the image URL's / slider information in. I then re-upgraded to 3.3. The information panel came back in my 'page edit' screen, but back to showing a black box in place of where my images should be. Pls help :)

Ok… just tweaked something, and now after 3 hours, it's working.
