DCG 3.3.3 looses settings and does not save any more on database move from localhost to production

I've been successfully using DCG on one domain, but I'm working on another one and I have a complete failure on it.

It completely looses all settings and I cannot edit them, as they are not saved (or the correct one are not saved). Nothing apparently happens on Save. It's terrible because I don't even know what's the cause, it's not showing any error in wp-admin, it says that settings are saved.

The bug seems to happen when I move the database from localhost to production server.

Are there some database fields that on this move they completely mess the way it works? Some paths to default images, etc.?

The temporary solution was to reset to default settings and reset all the settings. I will be moving databases from localhost to production from time to time (until the application is completely finished) and I hope I'll have the patience to do this every time :)

How are you moving the database? Yes, the DCG stores it's settings in the wp_options table. If you just do a WXR export, such settings (and not just the DCG's) are not exported – you have to do a complete backup/restore of the db.

I did exactly a full back-up using phpmyadmin (disabled extended inserts). Just a moment before database change, it worked. I can try doing this again now. I think it's easier on email, I use florin dot arjocu a=t gmail dot_com

It's working this time, although I've had that pain not only last night, but also last week. I don't see a clear pattern to reproduce it, it would be a lot easier to track it and kill the nagging bug.

I don't think this is a bug. The DCG creates 3 wp_options entries:
dfcg_plugin_settings
dfcg_version
dfcg_postmeta_upgrade

Providing this data is carried over with your backup, all should be fine when you restore the backup on your production site. Of course, any URLS saved in the settings may need to be adjusted to work on the new server.
